During our 5-night stay in Tuscany, we will reside at Fonte de Medici, the agriturismo estate of Piero Antinori.  The estate is located just 20 miles south of Florence in the center of the Chianti Classico region surrounded by the famed vineyards of Tignanello and Solaia.  We will spend our days filled with visits to enchanting hilltop villages, enjoying spectacular views of the vineyards and olive groves.  We will visit Pepe’s favorite wineries, including Pèppoli, touring their cellars and tasting some very special wines.

Our group will visit Florence and Siena; wonders of Renaissance art and architecture, plus some of the finest shopping in the world.  Each evening during our stay, a special winemaker dinner will be prepared at one of the Antinori restaurants in Florence or in the countryside.

2011 SCHEDULE

April 2011: Springtime in Tuscany brings flowers, strawberries, fresh pecorino cheese and all the spring vegetables.  The renewed energy of the season is witnessed by the reopening of sidewalk cafes and the children playing n the piazzas.  For those interested in photography, we will have the opportunity to photograph Antinori’s famed Tignanello and Solaia Vineyards, a very rare and special privilege.

September 2011: This time of year is chosen to coincide with the grape harvest in Tuscany.  It is the most remarkable time to visit this region.  We will witness the vineyards being harvested; the grapes rushed to the winery for crushing and watch as the winemaking process begins.  Porcini mushrooms and truffles be appear on menus and this is truly the food and wine lovers season.
